Uncovering the best food markets in the capital 🌮

A haven for food enthusiasts, London's vibrant culinary scene plates up flavours from around the world. When it comes to finding mouth-watering treats and fresh ingredients, the city's food markets are a treasure trove - some have even been around for hundreds of years!

Here are our all time favourites:

Borough Market

Nestled in the heart of Southwark, this iconic market is a food lover's paradise. With around 1,000 years of history and over 100 stalls, Borough Market is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London making this historic setting the perfect place to grab a local treat. Whether you're after the taste of home or something completely new, pick from classic British pies to fragrant paellas.

If you care about what you eat and where it comes from, this is the place to go.

P.S. You'll be able to find an array of delicious cheeses and freshly baked bread that are perfect for a summer picnic!

Broadway Market

Soak up the East London atmosphere every Saturday at this charming market. Known for its hipster vibe and rich history, Broadway Market is home to over 100 stalls filled with an eclectic mix of local vendors and producers so you're sure to find what you're looking for here.

Don't worry, there are more than 70 shops, cafés and restaurants open all week while you wait for the weekend market to come alive.

Maltby Street Market

Tucked away in Bermondsey, Maltby Street Market is a hidden gem that offers a more intimate and artisanal experience. A popular weekend destination, clear your schedule to explore the narrow alleyways lined with quirky food stalls and indulge in unique culinary creations.

Switching their vendors regularly, this place is sure to keep you on your toes.

Camden Market

Known for its shopping scene and events, the one thing that keeps people staying is the food here. This bustling market is renowned for its diverse street food vendors serving up global cuisines. Wander through the endless stalls to discover a hidden world of flavours from creamy Portuguese tarts to sizzling Korean barbecue.

Keep an eye out for the fried ice cream at T's Fried Scoop! 🍦

Greenwich Market

Also known for its shopping scene, Greenwich market is open every day for you to fill your bag with vintage goodies and fill your belly with top-quality food. Looking for a delicious veggie meal? Head to Plant Powered Pizza. Want something more unique? Check out Pimp My Ramen (who knew you could make a burger out of ramen?! 🤯).

As London's only historic market within a World Heritage Site, this spot should definitely on your foodie bucket list.

The capital's food markets are not just a place to eat but a cultural melting pot celebrating flavours from around the world. So grab your appetite and embark on a foodie adventure through the best food markets in London - your taste buds will thank you!
