Transgender Awareness Week is celebrated every year in November to increase understanding about transgender individuals and the issues they encounter. 🏳️‍⚧️

This year from November 13-19, people and organisations across the UK will participate in and host events to raise awareness of the transgender community. 

We have several events happening in halls and across London in support of Trans Awareness Week that you can sign up to now.

● 14th November - Trans in the City Awards, hosted at London College of Fashion

We're excited to announce UAL has joined forces Trans in the City as Partner Sponsors, helping them to continue empowering trans and non-binary professionals in the workplace. UAL will host the City Gala & Awards at LCF that will celebrate the contributions and achievements of trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals across a wide range of industries and communities.

●  15th November, 6:30pm - Transgender Awareness film screening  Stratford One

Join us in honouring Transgender Awareness Week with a special documentary screening of "Disclosure." 💗 This powerful film features interviews with leading trans creatives and thinkers who provide heartfelt insights and critical analysis of how Hollywood has influenced the transgender community. 🏳️‍⚧️

Free popcorn, movie snacks and fizzy drinks will be provided.

●  17th November, 12pm - LGBTQIA+ Tour walking tour  – Soho

Starting at the iconic Clermont Hotel in Charing Cross, we will journey through streets that have witnessed key moments in LGBTQIA+ history. Our expert guide will highlight the often-overlooked contributions of transgender individuals to the LGBTQ+ movement, offering insights into pivotal moments of activism, resilience, and cultural transformation.

●  18th November, 7pm - Bender Defenders self-defence class - Sketch House

Join us for a self defence class hosted by Bender Defenders, for Transgender Remembrance Day! 💫👊 Bender Defenders is a trans martial arts community empowerment movement. 🥋 They confront rising hate crime by teaching martial arts to queer and trans people and running self defence classes for the community.🙅🏽‍♀️

●  24th November - Mad Hatters Queer Tea Party – Highline Building

We want to transport you to Wonderland for a Queer Hatter's Tea Party! 🏳️‍⚧️ Carrol's Mad Hatter has often been considered an icon for queer and trans people throughout time and is unapologetically himself. So many people within the community don't have the opportunity to shine as their true self and we are offering a safe space of tea, treats and a touch of crazy!
