Everything you need to know about booking a room at UAL

📣 Are you looking to live in UAL halls next year? For the majority of UAL students, you will be able to book a room directly via our student accommodation portal.*

Find out everything you need to know about how and when to book a room in a UAL hall.

🗓️ Key booking schedule 🗓️

Here’s when you’ll be able to book a room for the new academic year:

Bookings will open in early 2026. Please refer to the website for the dates.

📲 How to book a room in halls 📲

1. Create an account in our student accommodation portal 💻

If you don't have an account, register in advance for one on the UAL student accommodation portal. You will need your 8-digit student UAL ID number. If you are a new student, this is detailed in your course offer.

2. Research our halls 🏡

Before you book a room in one of our halls, be sure to spend time researching the different halls of residences and rooms we have available. This will ensure you are fully informed and prepared to book your room when you are ready.

3. Book your room via our student accommodation portal 👩‍💻

To book your room in halls, you will need to sign into the student accommodation portal and follow the instructions.

This process will allow you to book a room immediately and you will have 2 hours to complete your room booking. If the 2 hour window closes before you complete your booking, you will be able to start a new booking but there is no guarantee that the same room will be available.

For a ✨stress-free booking process✨, make sure you are prepared with the following information before you start your booking:

✅ Your preferred halls and room types

✅ Personal information

✅ Payment method for your deposit. Please note that we only accept credit/debit card (Mastercard and Visa) payments during the booking process.

Our allocations work on a first come, first served basis. Our accommodation team prioritise students who have disclosed a disability or health condition in their application and students who will be under the age of 18 at the start of the tenancy.

*For students with a disability, health conditions, under the age of 18 and on a Study Abroad and Exchange programme, please visit our UAL Accommodation webpage for more detailed information about how to book a room in halls.
