Calling all artist - submissions for The Art of Trans Joy Competition are now open! 🏳️‍⚧️

Launching in line with ✨LGBTQIA+ History Month✨, this art competition invites students to create a work that celebrates trans joy and allyship through their chosen artistic medium, showcasing their talents to a wider audience.

🎨 What is The Art of Trans Joy? 🎨

This competition has been created by UAL in collaboration with Trans in the City, The British LGBTQ+ Awards and Gallagher Insurance.

Participants are encouraged to explore intersectionality, highlighting the diverse and nuanced experiences within the trans community through their creative expression.

Longlisted submissions will be showcased in an upcoming public exhibition at UAL, whilst the artworks that go on to be shortlisted will be displayed at The British LGBT Awards on 20 June 2025, where the winner will be announced. The winning submission will win £500.  

🖼️ How to submit your artwork? 🖼️

1. Complete the submission form and and send it to media@transinthecity.co.uk before the deadline.

2. As well as this, please provide at least 5 high-resolution images and a short video of your work. We recommend using WeTransfer for large files.

3. You will receive confirmation that your submission has been received.
