Helpful tips for navigating the city

Travelling around a big city can seem daunting, but don't worry, these apps and tips will help you navigate London with ease.

Citymapper app 📍

Citymapper is a website and an app where you can find the quickest and easiest route anywhere. Even lifelong Londoners rely on navigation apps and this one is great for big cities and public transport.

TfL Go app 🚇

This app will help you plan your journey and provide the live status of all tube lines. It will even show you how long the cycle times are and show you any potential delays. The app can also help you plan step-free journeys and show you all the station facilities.

Make sure you also apply for an Oyster Card to get access to discounted student travel.

StrutSafe free service 🚶‍♂️

If you are having a late-night study session, meeting friends, or simply heading to class, it's important to feel safe and secure during your travels. We encourage students to use StrutSafe, which is a student-friendly, volunteer-run service designed to help students feel safe while traveling, particularly when walking alone at night. Learn more about StrutSafe here.

Cycling 🚴‍♀️

We have bike storage in all of our halls of residence and all of our colleges, not only is this healthy, this is a cost-effective and sometimes a time-saving option. If you don't have your own bike you can always rent one through Santander Cycles
