Your room renovation will take place over 12 hours between 8am to 8pm, on a day between November 2025 and May 2026.

Our aim is to complete your room renovation within one working day and to minimise disruption to all our residents whilst the room renovations are taking place.

To ensure you have somewhere to study and to cook whilst your room renovation is taking place, there will be a temporary study room and kitchen available, as well as bathroom facilities. We will also give you a £30 Deliveroo voucher in case you would prefer to buy food on the day when your room is being renovated.

• A new desk light, desk chair, pin board and blinds

• A new desk in en suite rooms

• A freshly painted room and new flooring

• LED lighting throughout

• A full refresh of cluster kitchens

All residents will be notified by the iQ team via email 2 weeks prior to your refurb.

A notice will also be put on your door 2 days prior to the work being carried out.

You’ll need to let us know if you're planning to be away over the next few months.

A few days before your room improvement, you’ll be given one secure box (600mm x 400mm x 306mm). 

Cardboard boxes will be available for everything else.

Moveable furniture, TVs, suitcases or larger items will also need to be labelled and ready for storage.

At 7:45am on the morning of your room upgrade, these boxes will be collected and stored securely on site.

The work will begin at 8am, with your boxes returned at 8pm - you will have no access to your room between these hours. You’ll need to return your boxes to reception within two days of your room refurb.
