Leftover chocolate egg brownies
Don't waste your chocolate Easter eggs, make something delicious 🍫
Easy to make and great to share (or keep for yourself), this is the perfect holiday recipe to make the most of your leftover chocolate eggs.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup leftover chocolate eggs (chopped)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
METHOD
- Preheat your oven to 180ºC and grease a square baking dish.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chopped chocolate eggs together in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Fold into the matter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes our with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.
