Highlights from living in halls in 2025/26

With the end of term in sight, it's the perfect time to look back on what's been a brilliant year in halls.

Welcome Weekend 2025/26 🏡

By 19 September 2025, we welcomed 2,613 students to their halls!

Every Welcome Weekend brings the same buzz: students arriving, settling into their new home-away-from-home, and a whole new chapter beginning. 

Our Halls Committee 🥳

As we welcomed new and returning students to halls, we also onboarded a new cohort of Halls Committee, including Content Creators, Community Leads, Community Support and Event Leads. 

Throughout the year, they championed everything that makes halls feel like home — supporting their peers, building community, organising events, and producing relatable content to help everyone make the most of life in London.

September events 🎉

Our award-winning Halls Life team hosted more than 50 events during September to help students meet new people, find their feet, and start making memories. 

Black History Month

In October, our focus was Black History Month and our events offered a chance to reflect on and celebrate the Black community across halls.

Transgender awareness week 🏳️‍⚧️

For Transgender Awareness Week this November, we set up postboxes across halls where students could write messages of hope and solidarity for transgender individuals. 

Christmas events in halls 🎄

In the lead up to the festive season, our Halls Life team hosted Handmade Holidays — a festive event with herb wreath making, lino printing, and an upcycled decoration station.

On Christmas Day, our Halls Life team delivered hampers to students staying over Christmas, filled with treats and games to bring some fun and festivity to the holiday period. 🍫🧺

LGBTQ+ History Month 🏳️‍🌈

This year, our Halls Life team ran multiple campaigns to champion LGBTQ+ History Month.

During 12 Hours of Queer London Magic — a day packed with activities across the city. Everyone came together to support queer venues and celebrate queer art, culture, and community.

For the second year, the Art of Drag Transformation Course provided students with the opportunity to develop their drag performance skills, their confidence, and have some fun!

Halls Life Masquerade Ball 🪩

Halls Life hosted the first ever Halls Life Masquerade Ball this March - an evening of mystery, glamour, and celebration! 🎭

Earth Day Switch Off Showcase 🌱

In celebration of Earth Day, the Halls Life team ran a phone-free student showcase. The evening was spent reflecting, connecting and listening to performances from talented students!
