Partially Funded Rooms: What to know for next year

Posted 4 days ago

Returning next year? You still need to book via the portal

For the 2026/27 academic year, UAL is offering a limited number of partially funded rooms across some of its newest halls of residence. These rooms give students from lower-income backgrounds the chance to live in modern, well-equipped accommodation at a more affordable cost.

Partially funded rooms are available to students studying at any UAL college and can be booked online through the UAL Accommodation Portal.

Bookings open for current students on Wednesday 8 April 2026.

If you're currently in one of UAL's partially funded rooms, your room is not automatically renewed for next year. You will need to book it yourself through the UAL Accommodation Portal when bookings open for current students on 8 April 2026.

Places are limited and there is no guarantee you will get the same room - or any partially funded room - so book as soon as the portal opens.

To meet the main eligibility criteria, you must be:

    • A UK home fees student Studying a full-time, on-site Foundation, Undergraduate or Postgraduate course at UAL
    • Starting or continuing your course at the beginning of the next academic year
    • From a household with an income of £65,000 per year or less.
    • Care leavers and students who are estranged from their families are also eligible to book these rooms.

If rooms remain after priority bookings close, all other students enrolled full-time on an on-site UAL course will be able to book.

The UAL Student Funding Team will check eligibility for students who book partially funded rooms.
