Being more sustainable can often get a reputation for being expensive or inconvenient, but as one of our students Petra found out, a few small changes as a student can actually be a major student life hack. Follow Petra's reusable journey👇
The Math: Reusables = Free Coffee
The goal isn't just to reduce waste; it's to reward everyone who makes the effort to make a difference.
In any UAL café, if you bring a UAL KeepCup or your own reusable cup, or ask for a china mug if you're sitting in, you get two stamps per drink.
The hack: Since you get a free drink after every 10 stamps, using a reusable cup means you're redeeming a free coffee every 5 drinks. It's essentially a 'buy 5, get one free' deal for helping out the environment!
Always forgetting your cup?
- Keep it clean: As soon as your finished a drink in your cup, wash or rinse it, then immediately put it back into your bag so it's ready for the next day.
- Leave it with your essentials: Put your cup next to your keys, uni bag or phone.
- Set a reminder: Most phones have a reminder app, or will definitely have an alarm function, so you can easily be notified to pack your cup before you leave the house.
Remembering your reusable is so worth it for the money you save, it's a win, win.
⭐️ Pro tip: If you're staying in the café to sketch or study, always ask for a china mug. You get the double stamps even if you forget your reusable.
There's something nice about knowing your morning latte isn't ending up in landfill, and that you're part of a creative community that really cares.
So next time you're heading to a UAL café, bring your cup, grab your double stamps, and enjoy that feeling of a guilt-free hot drink.
