This week is National Student Money Week (3 to 7 March)

From the 3 to 7 March, it’s National Student Money Week, and at Halls Life, we’re excited to be Here 4 U!

We’ve organised a week full of events to help you save money while making the most of your university experience. Whether you want to pick up some new skills, discover great deals around London, or just have some fun, there’s something for everyone.  

We’ve also included a free student cost of living calculator below to help you avoid the guesswork of university costs.

💰 National Student Money Week Events 💰

Tuesday, 4 March

📌  Event: Pop-Up Stall at LCC 

⏰ Time: 11 AM - 2 PM

Come by our pop-up stall at LCC, where we’ll be offering exclusive discounts and deals to places around London. We’ll also be promoting all our exciting events for the week and giving away some freebies to make your day even better.

Wednesday, 5 March

📌 Event: Live Cooking Class at Sketch House

⏰ Time: 6 PM - 8 PM

💸 Cost: Free (with a £5 deposit refunded at the end of the class to guarantee attendance)

Join us for a live cooking class where you’ll learn how to make a budget-friendly soup using leftover ingredients. Plus, you’ll get to bake your own loaf of soda bread to enjoy. We’ll also be partnering with Waste Not (Baxter Storey’s food provider) to give you some free veggies to take home!

Thursday, 6 March

📌 Event: Pop-Up Stall at CSM

Date: 11 AM - 2 PM

Back by popular demand, we’ll be setting up shop at CSM to offer more great discounts, promote our events for the week, and hand out freebies. Don’t miss out on more chances to save and discover new opportunities!

Friday, 7 March

📌 Event: Animal Encounters and Herbal Tea Workshop

Date: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Come unwind with a relaxing animal encounter! You’ll get the chance to pet and feed animals at the farm, offering a great way to de-stress and connect with nature. Afterward, join our Herbal Tea-making workshop, where you’ll learn about the benefits of different herbs and enjoy a tasting session. It’s a perfect way to wrap up the week!

Whatuni offers a Student Cost of Living Calculator, which helps break down all the costs and makes it easier for students to plan and budget. All you need to do is sign up for a Whatuni account (which is free), and you can use the calculator multiple times.

If you want to find work to support your studies and make some extra money, then part-time or temporary work can be a great place to start. UAL offers a wide range of support to help you find the right role to work around your studies, including career resources.
