Looking to make a difference while living in halls next year?
Our award-winning Halls Life team is recruiting for student staff who will help them to deliver an exceptional student experience across our halls.
Applications are opening on ✨20 May✨ for new roles with Halls Life, kicking off in September 2026.
There are two types of paid roles available, Halls Life Event Leads and Halls Life Content Creators.
These roles are both 4-month contracts commencing 17 August 2026 and are only open to people who will be living in UAL Halls from September 2026.
If you are interested in one of these roles, make sure to fill in our interest form by 18 May, to receive further information and the links when the jobs go live on 20 May.
You must be living in one of the following halls:
Archwood House, The Costume Store, Emily Bowes Court, Gardens House, Glassyard Building, Highline Building, Portland House, Hawthorne House, Sketch House.
About the roles
- Hours per week: 12 hours
- Suitable for: Students in UAL halls only
- Must be living in one of the following halls: Archwood House, The Costume Store, Emily Bowes Court, Gardens House, Glassyard Building, Highline Building, Portland House, Hawthorne House, Sketch House.
- Duration of role: 17 August 2026 to 18 December 2026
- Payment: £18.62 p/h (including holiday pay)
- About the role: The Content Creator will work closely with the Event Lead within their UAL hall of residence.
Key responsibilities:
- Create fun, engaging marketing content to promote weekly hall events.
- Work with your Event Lead to suggest event ideas and bring them to life through creative content.
- Lead on producing posts, stories, and visuals for the @ual_hallslife Instagram and the Halls Life website.
- Follow content briefs and creative direction from the Marketing & Communications team to stay on brand.
- Promote events through posters, A-boards, group chats, and other channels.
- Produce video content - filming, editing, and doing voice-over work.
- Help shape the look and feel of Halls Life events with accessible, inclusive design.
- Capture event photography that shows the real energy and creativity of students in halls

- About the role: The Event Lead will serve as a key member of the Halls Committee within UAL halls of residence.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on events and wellbeing activities as part of the Here4U programme.
- Keep wellbeing resources topped up and accessible (like free period products, food dispensers, laundry powder, and more).
- Run interactive pop-ups to chat with students and gather their feedback.
- Plan and deliver events for cultural celebrations, awareness days, and History Months.
- Help promote equality, diversity, and inclusion through creative and meaningful activities.
- Work closely with the Student Experience Team.
- Collaborate with site teams and Residential Managers to support a positive hall community.
- Make a real impact on the wellbeing and everyday experience of students living in halls.

📌 Important training information
You must be available to attend mandatory online training for the role from the 17 August.
You must also be available to attend mandatory in-person training between 1 – 4 September. (You will receive a week of free accommodation and also be paid for this training week).
