Living in YourTRIBE Southwark, YourTRIBE Elephant & Castle, Wick Park, Signal House or Town Hall this year?

At Halls Life, our aim is to help students connect, build community, and make the most of their university experience through a wide range of events and activities.

While Halls Life may not directly host regular events within every hall, many of our accommodation providers run their own exciting programmes and activities for residents throughout the year. We work closely with these providers and collaborate on larger, university-wide celebrations and campaigns, including:

• Welcome events
• Winter celebrations
• LGBTQ+ History Month

And many other key dates and community-building initiatives throughout the academic year.

Events Are Open to Everyone

You do not need to live in a specific hall to take part in events. All UAL students are welcome to attend any Halls Life event, whether it is taking place in another hall, at an external venue, or elsewhere across the university community. Our events are designed to bring students together from across UAL, helping you meet new people and experience everything student life has to offer.

Welcome Event 🥳

📅 Friday 12 September from 7pm

📌 Common spaces

Join your Welcome Event on Friday 12 from 7pm, open to all residents who've checked in. It's your chance to meet people from across the building and enjoy food, a DJ all evening and activities. 

YourTRIBE's socials team will be around all night with icebreakers and activities to help you meet new people. They'll also fill you in on upcoming YourTRIBE and UAL Halls Life socials, so you know what to look out for next.

Food & drink

There'll be a buffet spread with vegetarian and vegan options, plus desserts. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available too. (Final details still being confirmed, so watch this space.)

Orientation and Q&A 🤔

YourTRIBE are running a dedicated orientation session to help you settle in.

They'll cover the essentials: how the building works, what facilities are on offer, safety info, how to report maintenance issues, WiFi setup, local services worth knowing about, and community activities to get involved in.

There'll also be time for a Q&A at the end.

Welcome BBQ 🌭

📅 23 September from 1pm

📌 Signal House garden

Join the Welcome BBQ to meet your neighbours, make new friends, and settle into student life.

They'll be serving up delicious BBQ food in the garden, with plenty of opportunities to chat, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Whether you've just moved in or are still finding your feet, the BBQ is open to everyone.

We want to hear from you! If there is an event, activity, or workshop you would like to see in your hall, please let us know. We are always keen to gather feedback and bring new experiences to students.

We have created a form specifically for residents in these halls to:

• Share event suggestions
• Request specific activities or workshops
• Tell us what types of events you would like to attend
• Suggest ways we can enhance the student experience in your accommodation

Once we receive your ideas, the Halls Life team can liaise directly with your accommodation provider to explore what may be possible.

Your feedback helps us create events and experiences that reflect the interests and needs of our student community, so we encourage you to get involved and share your ideas.
