What to know about staying in halls on a short course
If you’ve signed up for a Short Course at UAL and are staying with us in halls for the duration of your course, here is everything you need to know.

- Hall office is open from 9am to 5pm, Mon – Sun.

Reception is open 24/7; the contact number is 07717 686 560.
- For short stays, we only offer single occupancy ensuite rooms. Studio rooms will not be available.
- You will have full access to our common rooms where you will find games and entertainment options.
- Short term summer stays are provided between 27 June – 22 August.
- During the summer months, Sketch House is open to term time and short course students and potential guardians of underage students.
- Students who are 18+ will be allocated to mixed flats.
- Please liaise directly with your team coordinator if you have any further queries regarding this.
- Payments are made online and we accept debit/credit card payment only.
- Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- We cannot make a booking for you.
- You must make your booking on our booking platforms, which only accept debit/credit cards.
- We cannot assist if your bank requires security verifications before authorising your payment.
- Should your payment be declined, you must contact your bank directly. We do not accept BACS payments.

We are unable to temporarily reserve rooms for anyone.
- A daily continental breakfast
- Bed linen and towels which will be changed weekly
- Toiletries on arrival, including hand soap, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner
- Iron and Ironing Boards available in every kitchen
- Weekly room cleans
- Laundry Facilities are available at an additional fee (we do not provide clothes hangers)
- Free Wi-Fi

Cooking areas available in each flat (guests must bring their own utensils)
- The flats vary in size in Sketch House, so you can expect to share the kitchen facilities with between 6 and 10 people.
- We do not provide cookware or crockery. Should you wish to cook and make use of the kitchen during your stay, you must make your own provisions of cookware, crockery, and cutlery.
- Please note that you must wash up after yourself and always keep your kitchen clean and tidy.

We are unable to accept responsibility for any items left in the kitchen or common areas.
- A continental breakfast with sustainably sourced ingredients is included in the price.
- Other meals are not included. We offer vegetarian options, but we do not cater for additional specific and individual dietary requirements.
- Breakfast is served from 7:30AM until 10AM, Monday to Sunday.
- Please ask staff on site for directions to the recreation room where the food is served.
- Your room and flat kitchen will be clean on your day of arrival. Your room will be cleaned and bed linen is replaced every 7 days.
- Shared kitchens and all communal areas such as corridors, lifts, and common rooms will be cleaned weekly. All rubbish will be collected and removed by the staff.
- Guests are responsible for disposing of their own rubbish between the weekly cleans.
- Washing up will not be done by our cleaners. Guests are responsible for washing up and cleaning up after themselves and keeping the kitchen tidy.

- Changes and extensions will depend on availability.

- You will have to make your own arrangements for your transfer from the airport to your accommodation at Sketch House.
- You can check in late at night or on the weekend.
- The reception desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- The Sketch House office is open from 9am to 5pm.
- Outside of these hours, one of the UAL Out of Hours Team or security will be present at reception to attend to general enquiries and assist with late check ins.
- We do not have a designated storage area during the summer, but our staff will try to help where possible.

- Students who are aged 16 or 17 enrolled on a short course over the summer will be allocated to the same flats.
- Parents/Guardians must sign an online consent form if students who are under 18 wish to stay at the hall by themselves.
- Underage students are not given a curfew. Students can come and go as they wish, and we do not monitor their movements.
- Parents are asked to accept UAL’s terms and conditions at the time of booking, so that they are aware of their parental duties/responsibilities.

- We have on site staff in reception during the day and security staff onsite outside our regular reception hours.
- We also have an Out of Hours team which can be contacted during the evenings and at weekends if needed.
- During the summer months, there is an escalation process in place in which the security team on site will take action, should this ever be needed.
- Students must make their own travel arrangements from the hall to and from the college.
- We accept students who are aged 16 or 17 if they are enrolled on a short course over the summer months.
- We consider accepting students aged 15 years old and under, if they are traveling with a parent/guardian or a responsible chaperone who will always be with them throughout the duration of their stay. In such cases, they will need to book an additional room. Our rooms are for single occupancy and cannot be shared.

We cannot accommodate anyone under 16 years of age at our halls unless they are traveling with a parent or guardian who will always accompany them.
- Overnight guests are not allowed; anyone found to have overnight guests in their rooms will be asked to leave.
- Students are only allowed to have guests during the day.
- Students are responsible for the behaviour of their guests, anyone found to be misbehaving will be asked to leave immediately.

Students who are under 18 must not bring anyone over 18 to their hall.
- Our halls are not air conditioned, although we do have a limited number of fans available from reception. Please enquire with the Sketch House reception staff when you check in.
