Earth Week runs 20–26 April and highlights the importance of tackling the climate emergency. The UAL Climate Emergency Network is inviting staff and students to help shape this year’s programme.
💰 Successful contributors will be offered a nominal contribution fee of £100 and additional material support where needed to help them bring their idea to life. 💰
🚨 Submissions close Friday 20 February
You can propose a workshop, showcase, screening, performance, or another idea. You might share skills like material repair, lead a discussion on creative education and climate, or suggest something completely new.
The aim is to create an Earth Week that is educational, creative, collaborative, and responds to the shared challenges of our time.

This year focuses on the Fault Lines we stand on, not just as pressure points, but as places for mending, repair and transformation.
-
Exploring fault lines helps us find opportunities for change within existing systems.
You can propose a workshop, showcase, screening, performance, or another idea that is educational, collaborative and creative, and responds to the challenges of our time.
You might choose to demonstrate your experience with material repair, lead a discussion on the role of creative education in the climate crisis, or develop your own idea.
Proposals must relate to the following:
-
A response to a crack, fault line, tension, or leverage point.
-
This can be material, social, institutional, or ecological.
-
Ideas can interpret the theme literally or more conceptually.
The overall aim is to position repair and transformation as collective creative practice.
- You can submit your Earth Week proposal by completing this application form.
- You have until Friday 20 February to submit your proposal.
- Applicants will be informed on whether they have been accepted by the end of February.
Even if you don’t have an idea to propose, you can still join in at Earth Week. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of UAL's Earth Week programme!
