UAL’s Black Creatives Hub is offering students and recent graduates an exciting opportunity to showcase their creativity, talent and skills by designing and creating an outfit for DJ, Radio and TV Presenter, Henrie Kwushue to wear.
Henrie will debut the winning design at the 2027 MOBO Awards, one of the most significant cultural events in the British music industry, celebrating excellence in Black music and culture.
What you'll get
Shortlisted applicants will have the chance to meet with Henry and pitch their idea in person
The winning designer will receive a £2,000 prize fund, including £1,000 towards producing the final outfit and bringing their design to life
Design brief:
Henrie says...
“I’m looking for something that can be worn on a red carpet, accentuates the silhouette, is hot but still demure and has striking detailing”
Who can apply?
- Current UAL students and recent graduates (up to 3 years after graduation) from all courses, year levels and Colleges
- Applicants who identify as Black or of mixed Black heritage
- Applicants who are available for key dates, including pitches and all fitting sessions
How to enter
Please complete both steps by 5pm Sunday 5 July
- Complete the application form including a 500-word description.
- Send your digital front and back design sketches to blackcreatives@arts.ac.uk with your full name and personal email address.
