At the heart of our commitment to the student experience is student feedback. The Investor in Students (IiS) Survey is one of the important tools we use to make that happen.
🏡 What is the Investor in Students Survey?
The Investor in Students Survey is a confidential and anonymous feedback survey designed to give students a way to share their views on life in halls. This feedback is crucial for us in continuing to deliver excellent student support and experience.
After students have moved into halls, we ask them about:
🧳 Their move in experience
🛋️ Living spaces and facilities
🤩 Social events and activities
🛠️ Maintenance and repairs
This ensures we have a clear picture on how they’re settling into university life in halls.
Later in the year, before they leave halls, we ask students to reflect on their overall experience.
🤔Why do we do it?
We want to deliver the best student experience possible!
Collecting student feedback allows us to:
- Listen directly to the experiences of our students
- Identify priorities that matter most
- Shape improvements that have a positive impact
- Measure our progress each year
Every response contributes to positive changes that support both current and future students.
✨ What changes have we made because of your feedback?
Over the years, the survey has led to meaningful improvements. Thanks to student feedback, we have improved:
👥 Student Community & Inclusivity
Launched Halls Life+, a bespoke programme of events for PG & mature students
Doubled the number of Queer events
Offered more free events for students
🏡 Living Environment & Wellbeing
Introduced Quieter Lifestyle Flats
Free laundry powder provided by Here4U
💼 Skills & Opportunities
Increased number of employment opportunities for halls committees
📣 Your feedback matters
By completing the Investor in Students Survey, students help guide future decisions and ensure that our halls remain a place where everyone feels at home.
The Investor in Students Survey is currently open and closes on Monday 1 December 2025.
