New community kitchen, games room and A Block common room!

The wait is over — Archwood House's brand new community kitchen is open, and the games room and common room have both had a refresh!

These exciting upgrades are part of our summer refurbishment works and are a direct result of your feedback from the recent resident survey, so thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.

🍳 New community kitchen 

The new community kitchen comes equipped with dry food dispensers kept stocked with tea, coffee and essentials by the Halls Life team, a zip tap for instant boiling and ice-cold water, and a relaxed new space to sit and catch up.

🎮 Games room 

The games room has been refreshed to include a pool table, upgraded ping pong table and a lineup of arcade classics including a Time Crisis machine, Jurassic Park pinball and a dance machine. There's also a much-improved console gaming setup and better lighting throughout.

🛋️ A Block common room

Improved AV technology means it's now easier to connect your devices to the screen. There's also better lighting, a new table and reupholstered seating.

There are further improvement works planned for later this summer, including refurbishment of the cinema room. 

A simpler system for borrowing the table tennis bats and balls will also be introducted. Until this new system is in place, you should continue to collect and sign out the pool balls, as well as the table tennis equipment, from reception. 

The games console cabinet area will reopen later this summer. We will update you with further details.
