This week, we've kicked off phase 1 of our summer refurbishment works at Archwood House.
These improvements are a result of your feedback from the recent resident survey, so thank you to everyone who took the time to share your thoughts.
🍳 New community kitchen
Expect dry food dispensers, a zip tap for instant boiling water, and Halls Life will be on hand to keep it stocked with tea, coffee and everything you need.
🎮 Games room
New kit including a pool table, arcade machines and a dance machine, plus a much-improved setup for games consoles.
🛋️ A Block common room
improved AV technology to make it easier to connect your devices to the screen, plus better lighting and a fresh new look throughout.
Cinema room 🎬
Cinema room refurbishment is underway — get ready for an even better experience!
There are further improvement works planned across the summer, and we'll keep you updated with more information.
The new community kitchen, games room and common room are all expected to reopen early June. The cinema room will follow at the end of July.
The large common room remains open throughout phase 1, and the arcade machines will be relocated there. Halls Life events will also continue as normal in that space.
As the works are mostly cosmetic and on the ground floor, we don’t anticipate high levels of noise or disruption during phase 1. We have, however, asked contractors to keep any noisier works to start after 10am, and we will keep you informed if this changes at any point.
Contractors will be on site Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm (5pm at the latest if essential). There will be no works taking place at weekends.
