📚 Bookbinding Workshop: Create Your Own Handmade Journal!
Looking for a creative way to unwind and meet other students? Join us for a relaxed Halls Life+ evening of bookbinding where you'll learn how to transform paper into your own beautiful handmade notebook. 📒
In this hands-on workshop, you'll be guided through either Coptic binding (a traditional stitched binding that allows books to lie completely flat) or perfect binding (the style used for many paperback books). No previous experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.
Experiment with different papers, colours, textures, and collage elements to create something that's uniquely yours. Whether you're looking for a new sketchbook, journal, scrapbook, or notebook, you'll leave with a finished handmade book to take home.
We'll provide soft drinks and light refreshments, and there'll be plenty of time to chat with fellow students in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. 🤗
What's included:
- Guided instruction in Coptic or perfect binding
- A range of papers, card, and collage materials
- All tools and equipment provided
- Soft drinks and light bites
- Your own handmade journal to take home
Who is this for? This event is part of the Halls Life+ programme and is designed for students who are looking for a more relaxed social experience, including second-year students, postgraduates and mature students.
