Accessibility
- Unfortunately, there is no step free access aboard the boat. Some areas of the boat have narrow doorways, steps, or other barriers.
- Boarding the Boat: The Golden Flame is typically accessed via a gangway or ramp. However, the accessibility of this gangway can vary depending on the tide levels, which may affect its steepness. Onboard Movement: Moving around the boat may be challenging for those with mobility impairments, particularly if there are steps between different decks.
- The boat has two decks, one downstairs area which we keep as a quiet space and provide some snacks and games or a space to socialise. Toilets are also located on this floor. As the venue is a boat the stairs are quite steep
- Music on the upper deck will be set to a moderate level and microphones will be limited due to the noise pollution rules of the water.
- Both Toilets and urinals are available on the boat
- As a passenger boat, the Golden Flame will become crowded and noisy, especially during events. If you or someone in your group is sensitive to noise or crowds, consider bringing noise-cancelling headphones and utilising our quiet space
Words to the wise Please be aware that the boat will sway during its voyage along the Thames be mindful if you experience motion sickness. Please have medication or tools with you to mitigate this. Smoking is possible on outside upper deck.
If you have any other access needs or concerns, please contact us directly hallslife@arts.ac.uk before the event, and we will do our best to support you.
