SHAG Week at UAL
Welcome to SHAG Week! Our programme of activities that will bring you inside the world of Sexual Health & Guidance.
This is your chance to dive into all topics related to sex, sexual health, and sexuality; your opportunity to understand what’s best for you and how to find the support you need. At HallsLife, we think everyone deserves to have safe and healthy relationships and (of course!) a safe, healthy, and fun sex life!
We are excited to guide you with our full calendar of activities, workshops and events starting from the 18th of September at Club Soda for an alcohol-free night out! Socialise and have fun by sipping on alcohol-free drinks, learning how to create your own signature mocktail and don’t forget to grab an anti-spiking freebie before leaving!
Join us on Tuesday 19th September at Archwood House, for our cheeky “Sexpectation” panel (part of our Taboo Tuesdays) to talk more about intimacy, self-love, and sexuality. This forum will provide you with a fun and open space for discussions around sexual exploration, porn, kink, self-love, and more! So, grab a drink from our porn star martini bar, make your own vulva cupcake and listen up to our panel of experts composed by Jennie Williams, Max Hovey, Miss Gold, and Scotty Unfamous!
It’s only Wednesday, and we hope you won’t be too tired as our Big Glam Bingo is back to bring you the best night of drag entertainment! Join the fabulous Eileen Eiffell and Bluebell End, as well as other UAL students, at Zodiac Bar to discover our sexual health innuendo bingo! Get your ticket asap if you don’t want to miss out.
On Thursday, open your laptop and join us for an informational webinar about supporting your sexual health while at University. Peter Scalpello will cover how and where you can access services for your sexual health needs while living in London. This session will also discuss testing and treatments, health advice and psychological support, contraception, and reproductive health, as well as transgender services.
After “Supporting Your Sexual Health while at University” webinar, keep your laptop open as we will move into an exciting “Body Acceptance Workshop” run by Rakhi Sachdev. In this workshop, you will be guided through different practices such as mirror work, intuitive dance, meditation and gratitude, to help you connect deeply to your body, respect it, and accept it.
To empower yourself and enhance the acceptance of your body, you can’t miss out on the Dancing in Heels class! Hosted in Archwood, this class is designed to get you out of your head and into your body and feels. The dancer Li Li Hodge will help you to leave this class feeling empowered and ready to take on the world. So, grab your free ticket, get your heels ready and come have a sexy dance with us!
On Friday, to kick off the weekend with fun, we want to welcome you to our new Speed Mate-ing Event at Naked Soho. Meet new friends in the London’s first sex-themed restaurant! Have a drink and a cheeky sweet treat, connect with other students, and become part of a wider community within UAL!
We will end our SHAG week sending out a Consent training to those who sign up!
Enthusiastic sexual consent is a crucial part of all sexual interactions and contributes to respectful, equal, and fulfilling relationships. In this short training, you will learn about consent, consent myths and how to tackle rape culture through a mixture of information, interactive activities, and videos. No one ever deserves to experience any form of sexual violence or harassment and it is never the survivor’s fault!
We hope you are very excited about this week, in any ways possible! 😜
