Come explore the vitality and global impact of the African fashion scene, through the V&A's Africa Fashion exhibition. 🪡

Date Saturday 15 October
Time 12.45pm
Location Outside the V&A museum
Price £5 (+ £0.89 booking fee)

Join us in celebrating Black History Month, as we go to the V&A to see their Africa Fashion exhibition. 🙌🏾 Ranging from iconic mid-20th century to contemporary creatives, this exhibit explores a fashion scene as dynamic and varied as the continent itself. The impact of the contemporary African fashion is celebrated through garments 🧵, music 🎶, sketches ✏️, photographs 📸 and other visual arts 🎥.

“Foregrounding individual African voices and perspectives, the exhibition presents African fashions as a self-defining art form that reveals the richness and diversity of African histories and cultures.”

You will be able to have a close-up look at a new generation of designers, collectives, stylists and fashion photographers working in Africa, as well as explore the garments from iconic mid-20th century designers, such as Shade Thomas-Fam, Chris Seydou, Kofi Ansah and Alphadi. 🤩

Book your ticket now and join our Hall Reps and other UAL students on this museum trip. Tickets are discounted and only 5£ and will give you access to the exhibition. Tickets are very limited, so don’t miss out on learning about this eclectic and dynamic fashion scene. 🙌🏾✨
