Meet the Team - Neil

By UALHalls 16 Aug 2017

Hi, I'm Neil, and I'm the Group Residence Manager. I look after the team who work after hours in the halls. I am also in charge of the Wellbeing Peer programme.

I'm a keen traveller and have been to Thailand, the United States, Africa and various European countries. Las Vegas is my favourite place in the world.

Something a lot of people don't know about me is that my brother and I once saw a ghost when we were little. Rest assured, I haven't found any roaming our halls - yet!

Before joining UAL last year, I studied Law with Business at Kingston University and managed a security and facilities company for five years and worked at Sanctuary Students for two years.

I've seen a lot of funny things during my time working in halls. At my previous job we once discovered a student was breeding hamsters in her room and had to call the RSPCA.

If ever you need to find me, I work across all sites but mainly Gardens House, The Costume Store and Will Wyatt Court.

My favourite part of the job is definitely working with students - although I also secretly enjoy being a party pooper and shutting down parties in the early hours of the morning too!

If I could offer one piece of advice, it would be to enjoy the experience, speak to everyone and make use of your Social Reps and Wellbeing Peers. All the Residence Managers and Halls teams are really friendly, so you're in very safe hands.
