This week UAL Caterers Baxterstorey launched their own brand of coffee, “Hexagon”.
The name “Hexagon” was inspired by UAL’s six different colleges. To celebrate the launch, students and staff were treated to free samples across different UAL catering outlets on campus.
Hexagon coffee is organic, sustainable and grown in lush rainforests in Peru, Honduras and Ethiopia.
John Wood, Head of Universities at Baxterstorey says; “We work very closely with the farmers who grow our beans, building long-term relationships and sharing knowledge that supports sustainable farming practices. This helps our farmers secure their livelihoods, protect the land they farm and provides all of us with deliciously consistent coffee harvests, year after year.”
Baxterstorey has made sure that there is a team of experts working behind Hexagon. Each barista is highly skilled, ensuring quality taste, colour, aroma and freshness in every cup, served at just the right temperature. They also have their very own coffee gurus who tweak and fine-tune the balance of the blend throughout the year.
Alastair Johns, Head of Catering and Retail said: “We’re really excited to be launching our own coffee, especially as it encompasses UAL’s sustainability values. We hope our staff and students enjoy the Hexagon experience and become loyal customers.”
Hexagon coffee will be served at Wimbledon College of Arts, London College of Communication, Central Saint Martins and Camberwell College. Loyalty cards are available to both staff and students, with prices starting at £1.70.
Another new brand of coffee is being trialled exclusively at Chelsea College of Arts, so do watch this space for more information in the near future.
